Courses Played…..

You always appreciate it when you can play on great courses which have been designed by some of golf’s wonderful architects, from Donald Ross to Pete Dye and Robert Trent Jones. However, there is just as much satisfaction when you find a place close to home which exceeds your expectations.

Stoughton Acres Clubhouse

From the moment you pull up to the parking lot beside the quaint clubhouse, Stoughton Acres gives you a family whispering pines feel. Doesn’t hurt that most of the course is lined with beautiful firs, from pine to blue spruce. The adventure continues through a pro shop filled with every kind of gift. THIS is the place to go to find something unusual for the golfing mother-in-law, cause believe me you will find something in this pro shop filled with character. You can tell immediately that this is a family run golf course. In the case of Stoughton Acres this means a smile, maybe a story, or a quick lecture about rehydrating on a hot summers day! Then it’s off to the course.  Stoughton Acres is relatively short 6246 from the back tees, but, this is not the place to hold a championship golf match. This is the place to go any afternoon with wife or kid in tow. A few tough holes including a couple which carry water, make the challenge hard enough for a competent player and hard enough to really challenge the novice. Two or three times a year it’s that perfect little surprise that’s next door!
